Popface Image is identity

There is a precise moment when an image stops being just an imageand becomes something else.
A symbol.
A statement.
That’s where POPFACE begins.
On the occasion of Movimenti d’Arte, I presented a selection of works in Martina Franca, in the heart
of Puglia my land. A place rich in art, culture and tradition, which has deeply influenced my vision
and my path.

The works, born in the digital space, enter an environment charged with history: frescoes, architecture, memory.
And that’s where something happens.
It’s not contrast.It’s tension.
Contemporary images immersed in the past.Saturated colors against ancient surfaces.
Symbols layered over other symbols.
Past and present don’t coexist. They brush against each other.Sometimes they collide.
POPFACE moves within this friction.
Familiar faces are no longer individuals. They become surfaces.Projections.Icons shaped through perception.
Pop culture meets something deeper.Almost sacred.
Not religion.
But belief.
The exhibition, organized by La Bottega dell’Angelo together with ITRIA Living Experience, creates a dialogue between emerging artists and established figures such as Ugo Nespolo, Angelo Accardi and Marco Lodola.
A confrontation that adds further meaning to the journey.
POPFACE started as something instinctive, almost spontaneous, and evolved over time through research and awareness.
Bringing it today into my city, into a place so meaningful, feels like one of those moments when everything aligns:path, place and time.

POPFACE doesn’t explain images. It constructs them.
Because today, image is not representation.
It is identity.
